WHAT ARE TRAPPED NERVES?
Trapped nerves are any nerves that become trapped or pinched. You can trap a nerve anywhere in your body and it is usually caused by pressure being applied to the nerve due to pressure on the soft tissues around it including tendons, ligaments, cartilage and muscles.
The pressure causing the trapped nerve can also cause inflammation which can create even more pain and swelling exacerbating the situation.
WHAT CAUSES A NERVE TO BECOME TRAPPED?
Any structure within your neck may become irritated or inflamed as this will reduce the space and may cause the structure to pinch or trap the nerve and this is when you will feel the symptoms of a trapped nerve.
