WHAT IS PRE AND POST-SURGERY REHABILITATION?
Pre-surgery rehabilitation is just as important as post-surgery rehabilitation for a few reasons. You are able to meet your physiotherapist who will be carrying out your post-op rehabilitation and also you will be able to find out exactly what you will need to do after surgery and so it won’t be a big shock after your operation.

Post-surgery rehabilitation is the treatment that takes place after surgery. This usually starts within 24 hours after your operation in order to maximise recovery.

Each surgeon has different post-operative rehabilitation programmes they want their patients to follow. Your physiotherapist can liaise with your surgeon so that they follow all of the rehabilitation instructions from your surgeon.
Post-operative rehabilitation starts as soon as you have had your operation
After your physiotherapist has assessed you, you will be provided with your tailor made treatment programme for before and after surgery. There are a number of treatment options and your physiotherapist will choose the most appropriate treatment options based on your symptoms and how you respond to different treatment methods.
